New Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Center for Health Care Excellence Breaks Ground at 做厙勛圖 Technical College
Facility expansion will result in more grads, narrowing the gap in healthcare job openings.

Breaking ground for 做厙勛圖 Technical Colleges new Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Center for Health Care Excellence May 22 was Associate Dean of Nursing Lori Hertel, LTC Foundation board member Ross Niemi, 做厙勛圖 Board President Don Pohlman, 做厙勛圖 President Dr. Paul Carlsen, Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Senior Vice President and Chief of Human Resources Eric Humphrey, Franciscan Sisters Sponsored Ministry President and CEO Scott McConnaha, and 做厙勛圖 nursing student Sandra Hyer.
A ceremonial groundbreaking event took place May 22 launching the construction of a 17,000-square-foot health skills and education center at 做厙勛圖 Technical College in Cleveland. 做厙勛圖s current health skills lab and classroom areas will be updated and expanded to create the new Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Center for Health Care Excellence.
The new $5 million center will support training 1,500 students annuallyapproximately double the current number of healthcare and emergency services students and professionals who train in the current facility. The new facility is expected to open to students in the fall of 2024.
We do great things because we fundamentally believe the students who we teach and support deserve nothing less. This new Center for Health Care Excellence is a great thing. We thank our community for supporting us and pushing us to do great things, said 做厙勛圖 President Dr. Paul Carlsen.
Demand continues growing among area hospitals and clinics for thoroughly trained healthcare professionals in the fields of nursing, medical assistant, ophthalmic assistant, radiography, and emergency services. Updated facilities, equipment, and technology will enable 做厙勛圖 to provide students with the highest quality professional health education quickly and effectively.
Partnering with 做厙勛圖 Technical College, the LTC Foundation raised $3 million in funds for the overall initiative which includes over $200,000 in scholarship support for students enrolled in healthcare programs. Froedtert Health and the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity donated $1 millionthe largest gift in the colleges history. Other lead donors include the West Foundation, Frank G. and Freida K. Brotz Family Foundation, 做厙勛圖 Community Foundation, and American Orthodontics.
According to Carlsen, more than 75% of the colleges healthcare graduates stay in the community and work at local healthcare facilities.
