Wyatt Elected Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association President

Թ’s District Board of Trustees Chair John Wyatt has been elected president of the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association for a one-year term beginning July 1.

Wyatt joined Թ’s Board in 2017. He served as secretary/treasurer from February-July of 2021 and then vice chair from July 2021-June 2023. He went on to become board chair in 2023 and serves as an IT Advisory Committee member.

“We congratulate John on his appointment to the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association,” said Թ President Dr. Paul Carlsen. “His wealth of knowledge will serve him well in this capacity. John’s expertise and perspective has been an asset to Թ’s District Board and will now serve as a bridge between activity at our college and the state level.”

The association acts as a statewide forum for trustees of locally-governed, community-based technical colleges. The private, non-profit organization’s focus is collaboration, learning, idea-sharing, and advocacy among its 144 district board members from Wisconsin’s 16 technical college districts.

“I’m honored to serve as president of the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association. I look forward to working alongside other college board members to advance community and technical education across Wisconsin,” said Wyatt.

“My top priorities are to increase the level of collaboration between all 16 colleges in the technical college system and to provide meaningful educational opportunities for our board members — ensuring they are well-informed, well-equipped, and empowered to serve their colleges and communities with excellence,” he continued.
